Membership

The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of Greater St. Louis, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the betterment of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.  Our purpose is to increase and promote interest in Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers as defined by the AKC standard; to interest the public in the merits of Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers; and to give a Specialty Show of Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers as well as to offer trophies at all-breed shows in breed and to promote friendly rivalry among Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier owners.

The club meets quarterly with the meeting dates and location posted on the club website. Non-members are always welcome at regular meetings.  Meeting participation is important to the success of the club.

To be considered for membership in the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of Greater St. Louis, Inc., we require that you attend at least two regular Club meetings in person or by electronic medium or one regular meeting and one club function (Specialty Show, Holiday Party, etc). This will familiarize the applicant with the club and its activities.

Subsequent to attending two meetings and/or functions as required, a membership application will be sent upon request by the Recording Secretary.  Included with this membership application will be the Club’s constitution and by-laws and the Code of Ethics of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America for reading and review.

The membership application requests signatures of two current club members in good standing who are of different residences and have been a Club member for at least two years and have personally known the applicant for a minimum of 6 months.  The application should be completed and signed before returning to the Recording Secretary.

Once the Recording Secretary receives the completed membership application, the club membership will be notified of the applicant for membership.  The club membership will have 14 days to respond with comments or concerns. After the fourteen days that the membership has been notified of the application, the board will vote on the membership.   We are confident that together we can maintain the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier as a healthy and sound breed!
